The new team left for planning yesterday! Guess where... Tuscany, Italy! Lucky people. :-) It's the same place where the 06-07 team had their planning. It was one of the best times of the AI year! There will be a post once they are back - on what happened during those 8 days! So stay tuned to that.
The office is a bit empty today with the new team not here - but a lot has happened in the last 2 weeks!
Two big blocks have been completed besides individual transition that has been progressing at a rapid pace:
External Reality
(Ondro was responsible for the block)
AIESEC International would like to say a big thank you to the people who assisted in this block and devoted their bit of time to our transition. The people mentioned below were available on phone to answer questions from the new team and share their perspectives and thoughts around key external issues and trends.
Fernando Lanzer EVP Leadership & Learning; ABN AMRO
Martin Bean Worldwide General Manager Education Strategy, Products and Solutions at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Washington.
Sangeeth Varghese Founder, www.leadcap.org (LeadCap); Author: Decide to Lead
Fernando De Sousa General Manager, Emerging Markets (MEA), Microsoft
Joshua S. Fouts Director, USC Center on Public Diplomacy; Annenberg School for Communication; University of Southern California
Starting the MBA block which included professional skills, IS day and also portfolio transition
Maria was responsible for the professional skills block, Kiko was responsible for the IS Day block – Here’s a short video to describe what happened in these blocks.
Also, the taskforce transition took place earlier this week giving them an overview on how the Task Forces have been working, key learning over the year, achievements, non-achievements, must dos, and the elements covered over the year.
The weather in Rotterdam has been not the best - though it's not surprising. Summer must be around in Europe but certainly not in Rotterdam. You do not see the sun much; the new team is getting used to this. :-)
The famous Irish pub hangout for AIESEC International called “Paddy Murphy's” has been a place for frequent visits as we had a lot of birthdays in the past 3 weeks - Juan, Mairi, Pinar, Rishabh, Aman, JC, Martin (our CEEDer). Also a lot of late evenings have been spent at the pool place chilling out.
Soccer practice is going decent, the weather is spoiling the spirit a bit but still both teams are practicing and undergoing good preparation for the AI transition party.
Keep posting your comments, thoughts and any questions you have for anyone from the new team! We'll make sure they are addressed in the upcoming posts.
